CAST Academic Support

Many of the companies housed in Technium have, or will develop, fruitful links with University departments.

Bangor University

Bangor University has strong links with Technium CAST. Several academic departments have also, over the years, developed and built partnerships, joint collaborations and research projects with Technium companies, including the following departments:

Computer Science

Technium CAST has close links with the highly regarded School of Computer Science. The School is currently ranked 4th in the UK in the Guardian University Guide. Many graduates of the department are now employed by tenant companies in Technium CAST.

University Innovation Bangor (UIB)
UIB is the University’s specialist unit dedicated to supporting the University's mission to:

  1. Support, develop and promote UWB’s Research, Enterprise and Knowledge-transfer activities.
  2. Facilitate access to the know-how of leading researchers, scientists and graduates.
  3. Create an environment which fosters innovation, enterprise and promotes partnership.
Bangor University is active in four main areas: postgraduate research, which provides opportunities for companies to link into established or create new research programmes; Development and delivery of Strategic Projects some of which can have direct benefit to Technium companies; and Technology Transfer and Industrial Partnerships which can provide direct support using existing knowledge or putting programmes in place to develop new knowledge which is relevant to individual companies.
